Our Professional Drivers: Ex-Long-Haul Truckers and Former Police Officers
Our drivers are mostly ex-long-haul truckers and former police officers. The owner interviews and approves each driver personally, and before anyone drives for us they pass a criminal background check, a driving-record (MVR) check covering five years, a drug test and a reference check. Nobody smokes in your vehicle, ever.
We have driven customers’ cars and rental trucks since 2013, more than 1,000 trips. This page explains who our professional drivers are, how they are chosen and checked, and what they do with your vehicle from pickup to delivery.

Where our professional drivers for hire come from
Long-haul truckers spend careers driving 2,000-mile weeks in every kind of weather, in vehicles far harder to handle than your car. Police officers spend careers being accountable, following procedure and writing things down. Both bring decades of road time and no interest in cutting corners. Our drivers bring years of professional driving or police experience.
Each driver is one person behind the wheel for your whole trip, and the same standard applies to the drivers we send with rental trucks.
How we choose and check each driver
- The owner interviews each driver personally and approves each one.
- Criminal background check.
- Driving-record (MVR) check, covering five years of driving history.
- Drug test.
- Reference check.
A driver who fails any step does not drive for us. Every truck driver we send passed the same checks as our car drivers.
After a driver joins
We take customer complaints seriously, and a driver can be removed from our roster after a complaint.
Rules on the road
- No smoking in your vehicle, under any circumstances.
- No passengers. Your driver travels alone with your vehicle.
- About 1,000 miles a day, with proper rest. We do not run drivers through the night.
- Every trip is GPS-monitored by our office. If you want an update, ask and you will get one.
- Your driver photographs the vehicle at pickup and again at delivery, and walks it with you both times.
- One driver, door to door. Your car is never handed off.
Safety record
We have never had an accident. Every trip carries premium AAA roadside coverage, which may cover initial towing if a vehicle breaks down.

Questions about our drivers
Will I know who my driver is before pickup?
You will have your driver’s name before pickup, and your driver will call you about eight hours before delivery. If your insurer wants to add the driver to your policy, we provide the license details.
Will the same driver handle my car the whole way?
Yes. One driver, door to door. Your car is never handed off.
Do you have drivers for hire near me?
Yes. Our drivers travel to you, so there is no need to find someone local or a depot to drop the car at. We pick the car up where it is, anywhere in the lower 48 states and Alaska.
What does a professional driver service cost?
Most trips cost $0.75 to $1.25 a mile as a base price, with fuel and tolls at actual cost. The owner prices every trip personally: see what a trip costs.
What if I have a complaint about my driver?
